Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the chef'd mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use chef'd. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App and that they have read and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You may register using your email address and password, or through Google OAuth authentication.

4. User Content

chef'd allows you to post, share, and store content including but not limited to photos, recipes, captions, comments, and profile information ("User Content").

Ownership: You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by posting content on chef'd, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and providing the App.

Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting it. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to post your content and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use chef'd to:

  • Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content without authorization
  • Collect or harvest user information without consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
  • Post content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
  • Post content unrelated to home cooking or food

6. Content Moderation

We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor, review, or remove User Content at our sole discretion. We may remove content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable for any reason.

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your profile, posts, and associated data will be permanently removed.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise inappropriate.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by chef'd and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Recipes and cooking advice shared on the App are user-generated and should be followed at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHEF'D AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless chef'd and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
